This year FENCA invited collection experts and decision-makers to the Swedish capital of Stockholm to discuss controversial topics concerning the worldwide debt collection industry at its annual Congress.

The Conference took place from 15th to 17th October 2015 and attracted a high number of attendees. With around 200 participants FENCA was glad to reach the all-time highest attendance rate since its first FENCA Congress in 1993. Some of the attendees even came from China, Mexico, the US, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Egypt and Bahrain.

On Saturday, Piotr Badowski was reelected as treasurer of the FENCA board, and Rayna Mitkova-Todorova and Erwin Falkner were elected as new members of the FENCA board.

Rayna Mitkova-Todorova has an M.A. in International Tourism from the University for national and world Economy in Sofia as well as an EMBA from Cotrugli Business School in Zagreb. She is currently President of the Bulgarian Collection Association since 2011 (reelected last year) and Managing Director of EOS Matrix Ltd. (debt purchase) and EOS Services (collection services). She started her collection business with a partner in 2002 so this year she will be celebrating 13 years in business.

Erwin Falkner holds a Diploma in Business Law with a specialization in International Law from the University for Business and Management in Essen. He is a native Austrian, owner and managing director of the collection company Vynto GmbH & Co. KG. Falkner has over 22 years of experience in leading companies and associations in the debt collection and credit industry. Previously he also led IT businesses. Since 1963, his company is a member of BDIU e.V. where he was also head of the Committee on European Affairs from 2012 to 2015.

Piotr Badowski holds a Master in Finance and Banking from the University of Economy Cracow. Since 2001 he is a Board Member of EULEO and President of the Polish Debt Collection Association PZW since 2010.He has over 14 years of experience in debt collection. In 2012 he was elected to the FENCA Board.

At the congress the participants had controversial discussions about the European Data Protection Regulation. Other interesting topics were details about the debt collection system in Sweden as well as current trends in debt collection across the world.

FENCA represents 21 national collection associations. These represent more than 1,500 debt collection companies with around 60,000 employees.
